About Me
My name is Stacy, I'm a mother, a grandmother and I've been writing poetry, on and off, for many years.
I started out writing purely for myself. I'm a hopeless romantic, I'm creative and I'm good with words, and poetry was how I expressed myself. One day I wrote a poem for my mum (which she still has framed on her wall) and I suppose that's when I started to think I could write for other people as well as for myself. So I started up a little "cottage industry" and it proved to be very popular.
I entered one of my poems into a competition, which I didn't win, but the poem was published in that year's edition and I was invited to write a new poem for a special publication the following year, and again the year after. By coincidence I had just written one for my sister's wedding at the time so I submitted that and it took pride of place on Page One of the special edition.

I was also invited to speak at a poetry convention in America but I declined, mainly for financial reasons but also because back then I was terrified of public speaking.
I stopped writing for a number of years - sometimes life just gets in the way - but when I picked it up again, my ability to make words dance was still there and I love it as much now as when I wrote my very first poem. Since then I've dipped in and out of it, only recently deciding to start up the "business" again.
I have just had my third book published and I am currently working on another two.
